Yandex is looking for talented and ambitious startup teams from anywhere in the world wishing to promote their projects and find partnership opportunities for development. The key areas we are mostly interested in are:

new online business models, new mass market services;

multimedia technologies (face, bar code, map pattern recognition, 3D modeling for maps, speech synthesis and speech analysis etc.);

geolocation (for navigation, social communication, traffic information etc.) using Yandex’s data or otherwise;

analysis and structuring of personal (email, subscriptions etc.) and public (news, blog updates etc.) dataflow using, for instance, fact extraction technology;

user behaviour analysis, advertising technologies;

new interface solutions;

data processing and presentation in various fields (finance, medicine, document processing etc.).
How it works?
Last year Yandex purchased the Loginza and WebVisor technologies. In August, 2011 we acquired The Tweeted Times service. Recently, we launched the Yandex.Factory program to help startups with investment and expert advice. Three projects have already received funding under this program.
Yandex.Factory
Yandex.Factory is Yandex’s investment program that helps startup teams finance their product, prototype or project development. Projects in their development or early investment stage can receive financing worth thousands of US dollars for up to one year.
During this period, Yandex managers will work closely with the project’s team sharing their knowledge and expertise.
What kind of project will attract finance in this program?
- A working project might potentially be interesting for Yandex, and it does not necessarily have to be finalized at the moment. In this case, we can discuss further steps and try working together for a few months.
- An idea that has not yet been developed into a working project, but is so good and relevant that we are ready to believe and invest in it even at an early stage.
- A technology project. To apply for financing, you will have to demonstrate at least a working model.
How will we know about you?
You can tell us about your project via this application form. Your application will go through a selection process before it can reach a project manager who will decide if we can work together. Please be as clear as possible when describing your project to increase your chances of passing the selection process.
