Internet, September 6, 2012. Yandex’s free cloud storage service Yandex.Disk has dropped its invitation-only policy. Now, web users wishing to join the site and start using its free file storage space do not need an invitation to do so.
Yandex.Disk is a web site for uploading, storing and sharing files in various formats and sizes. A cloud service, such as Yandex.Disk, is convenient for storing photos, videos, or even copies of personal documents online so that they can be accessed at any moment from any device – PC, laptop, or smartphone – connected to the internet. Users joining Yandex.Disk can have 10GB of free storage space at their disposal, which can be upgraded to 20GB if they introduce friends to Yandex.Disk.
“We have had amazing feedback over our invite-only period. We want to thank everyone who helped us to improve the service. Today, Yandex.Disk welcomes all to join in and try our mobile application, which beautifully complements the cloud service. Our doors are now open to everyone,” says Vladimir Rusinov, head of the Yandex.Disk service.
The Yandex.Disk app is compatible with any iOS or Android-based smartphone. The application provides users with a fast and easy access to their files on Yandex.Disk on the go. Using the app to share files via mobile devices is gentle on the wallet – Yandex.Disk forwards just a link to the file uploaded to the service. Syncing files from phone to desktop computer is also easy with Yandex.Disk. All you need to do is add your files to the Yandex.Disk app on your phone and you can view them both on your PC and on your laptop. You can also take photos with your phone and save them directly on Yandex.Disk to save your phone memory.
