All games can also be watched live right in Yandex’s search results at yandex.ru. After typing [Mexico, South Africa] in the search bar, football fans will see announcements, text transmission of the game or its final score if the game is already finished. And the request [football world cup] will return a field with a schedule of games and main statistics right under Yandex search bar.
The project provides users with almost all information about the World Cup 2010. One page features all most important things – group tables, schedule of games, fresh news of the championship and publications about it. All football fans can watch games in realtime mode provided by the First Channel as well as videos of all kicked goals. There is also a world cup football table with a forecast feature.
Those who are afraid to miss the game of their favorite team can subscribe to free SMS notifications or add an important event to their Yandex.Calendar, which will alert about the start of this event.
This project is not the first project of Yandex devoted to a large sport event. Such competitions are of interest of a huge audience. For example, Yandex page of the Hockey World Cup was visited by hundreds of thousands users and the page of Olympic Games by over a million.
