Yandex Invites for a Walk

Internet, September 10, 2009. Yandex.Maps shows “Panoramic views" of the streets. Now web users can see the streets of Moscow in detail and even take a walk around.

"Panoramic views" shows names of streets and numbers of buildings to help users easily find their destination. For instance, they can see what Taganka Theater looks like before going there. Or check out Moscow City Hall at Tverskaya 13 and even select viewing direction and zoom in to include the whole of Tverskaya Square together with the statue of Moscow’s founder, Yuri Dolgoruky.

"We have images of 1,000 kilometers of Moscow streets”, says Maria Orlova, Project Manager. “Panoramic views are available for all streets within the Garden Ring, for almost all of the streets within the Third Ring and for arterial highways on the outskirts. So, now Moskovites and visitors to the city can take virtual walks around Moscow”.
