Nokia installs Yandex on Russian smartphones

Mobile device manufacturer Nokia is installing a search engine by Russian internet portal Yandex on its smartphones, reports Prime-Tass.

Currently, Nokia smartphones are equipped with Mobile Search, an application that gives users access to search engines. Prime-Tass reports that initially Mobile Search had access only to Yahoo’s search engine, while now users can choose between Yahoo and Yandex search engines.

Nokia's N80 Internet Edition smartphones will come preinstalled with the Yandex engine and will be available in Russia in 1Q 2007. Nokia smartphone customers can also download Mobile Search with Yandex from Nokia's website.
